Antique 19th century picture book of the Gelderland capital with tourist background information Illustrated with 12 chromolithographs (lithographs in colour) of street views, drawn from nature by G.J. Bos and printed by P.W.M. Trap. Each print protected with pink tinted rice paper. Hardback edition.

¶ The book contains views of De Groote Markt (with the Eusebius Church), Lauwersgracht, Grooten Oord, Coehoornstraat, the Leesmuseum at the Nieuwe Plein, the Sint Eusebius Tower at the Nieuweplein (the so-called 'Kleine Eusebius' - demolished in 1990), the building for the provinciaal archief (lost during the Battle of Arnhem, 1944), Stationsplein, Roermondsplein from the ship bridge (now Nelson Mandelabrug), music hall Musis Sacrum, the (school) gymnasium aan het Land-van-de-markt and (a gentleman on horseback at) de Kippenmarkt (now Kerkstraat near Eusebius). Many monumental buildings and facades have disappeared.
