Second edition of the much-translated war chronicle [Bitter herbs], a classic from European literature about World War II. Illustrated with black and white drawings by the Groningen artist Herman Dijkstra (1904-1976). Series Ooievaar [pockets] 56.

¶ Marga Minco's debut (pseudonym of Sara Menco, 1920-2023) sold quite well. After the first issue in May, this 2nd edition was published in September 1957, again in a print run of 10,000 copies. Cf. Jessica Voeten p. 20; fig. 4.
