Dutch translation of 'La comtesse rouge: Erzsebet Bathory' (1985); a comic strip adaptation of 'Ewige Jugend' (1886) by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch (1836-1895) about the life of the "Blutgräfin" Elizabeth Báthory. Zwarte Reeks part 16. Cf. Matla SOMBR 1.16.

¶ The French cartoonist Georges Pichard (1920-2003) is known for the comic series 'Paulette'. He specialized in very sadistic artwork. Elizabeth Báthory (1560-1614) was a Hungarian countess and serial killer. She is in the Guinness Book of Records as the murderer with the most deaths to her name. Reportedly, 'Dracula' (1897) by Bram Stoker is partly based on her person.
