¶ La Cicciolina was elected to parliament in Italy in 1987 for the Partito Radicale party, making her the first porn star in the world to serve in a democratic parliament. Staller was married to American artist Jeff Koons from 1991 to 1994. Koons regards their son as a biological sculpture of his own creation. Tommy Wieringa's novel 'Caesarion' (2009) is based on the story of this child.
