Angelika Muthesius [ed.] - Jeff Koons - Cologne - Benedikt Taschen - 1992 - 1st edition - 176 pp - Softcover - 23 x 30 cm.

Condition: Good.

Art book showcasing the flamboyant objects and photography of American artist Jeffrey Lynn Koons (1955-). Illustrated in COLOUR. With a catalogue raisonné, list of exhibitions, and a brief bibliography. Text in English, German, and French.

¶ Koons' work is characterized by banality and seduction and has been described as postmodern, camp, kitsch, and über-kitsch. He created sculptures of dogs, flowers, and American pop icons (the Pink Panther, Michael Jackson, Buster Keaton). In 1991, he married the Italian porn actress "La Cicciolina" (Ilona Staller), with whom he had a son, whom he considers a biological sculpture of his own creation. The conception of Ludwig (named after the insane King Ludwig II of Bavaria) was captured in the pornographic photo series 'Made in Heaven'.
