¶ The Dutch painter Abraham Johannes Couwenberg (1806-1844) worked in the style of Romanticism. Also characteristic are his imposing skies, inspired by 17th century painters such as Jacob van Ruisdael. He worked as an art teacher in Arnhem. His brother, the graphic artist Henricus Wilhelmus Couwenberg (1814-1845) conveyed this beautiful Dutch scene 'in steel' and the Arnhem bookseller Isaac Anne Nijhoff (1795-1863) marketed it.
