Collection of poems (dedicated in print to 'mijn vriend Jan Bootsman'), by the Dutch poet Gerard den Brabander (= Jan Gerardus Jofriet, 1900-1968); with poems that were all created and dated in the fateful year 1933.

Among the titles of these "social anecdotes" we find, among others: 'Werklooze met weegschaal', 'Crisis-Boeren', 'Landschapschilder-in-den-crisis', 'Joséphine [Baker] in 't Concertgebouw' en 'KING KONG'. The film premiered in March of that year.

¶ On the cover an art deco portrait of the dictator Adolf Hitler, who came to power democratically in 1933 and turned Germany into a NAZI state, resulting in the Second World War. The cover is depicted in 't Is vol van schatten hier' p. 329, but the designer is unknown.
