Condition: Good.

Dutch translation of Le Con d'Irène (1928); a pornographic novel published under a pseudonym by the French surrealist writer Louis Aragon (1897-1982). Jean-Jacques Pauvert calls it "one of the four or five most beautiful poetic works produced by Surrealism".

The book describes the life of a man from adulthood to old age, and the second half of the text concerns his inner thoughts after he loses his ability to speak and move due to syphilis.

¶ With suggestive cover by Karel Beunis and J. Cursto [= Jaap Jungcurt]; the cut-and-paste work appears to show naked bodies, but is in fact very chaste. At least 8 titles appeared in the unnamed 'Erotische Reeks' in 1969/1972. Cf. Verzameld Werk Catalogus 7 (1988) ErR 104.
