¶ Maria Augusta von Trapp-Kutschera was the matriarch of the Trapp Family Singers. Her and her family's story of escaping the Nazis after the Anschluss was the inspiration for the 1956 German film 'Die Trapp-Familie', which subsequently became the base for the musical 'The Sound of Music' (1959) with Julie Andrews.
