Dutch authorized translation of Die Urvätersaga (1934); a novel full of 'Blut und Boden', situated among the old Germans, written by the German writer Hans-Friedrich Blunck (1888-1961). Cf. Groeneveld p. 255. NCC: once present in the KB The Hague).

This copy has been restored by master bookbinder Hans Zegveld. It is originally a paperback edition. The front cover (depicting a Runic sign) has been preserved, the spine has been replaced by blind cloth in an appropriate green colour.

¶ During the time of the Third Reich, Blunck was involved in various cultural institutions of the NAZI regime (including serving as president of the Reichsschrifttumskammer). Between 1920 and 1940 he published many novels and stories in the spirit of National Socialism. Blunck was particularly interested in Hanseatic history and Scandinavian themes, which he framed with nationalistic aspects and "völkische" ideas.
