Condition: Good - with bookstore label and owner's entry (1938) on endpaper.

A collection of poems with homo-erotic poetry, presented as if it were by a poet who died at a young age. PC Boutens (1870-1943) maintained the mystification until his death, but in 1983 it was definitively shown that Boutens himself was hidden behind the pseudonym. With index on opening lines.

¶ Bound first edition in flexible green cloth binding. According to Rijkse 2.55, the circulation of the 'regular edition' will not have been more than 300 copies. There was also a deluxe edition of 30 copies on 'Japanese paper'.

ADDED: a second edition of 'Vergeten Liedjes' from the year MCMX (1910) in the same design and format (blue linen, nicely rough-cut paper). Same name of previous owner on title page (May 1936).
