Thick monograph (an 'art-brick') with an overview of the work of the Dutch artist Jasper Krabbé (648 sketches, travel photography and reproductions in COLOUR) of his large paintings. Text in English. Hardback edition with ribbon marker.

"When he travels to such places as Thailand, Morocco, Cuba or the United States [the artist] sketches the various scenes he encounters in small, handmade notebooks. [...] Executed in black with a standard biro-pen, these small drawings (which are reproduced here in life-size) are often later reworked in his Amsterdam studio [...] tot create larger works."

¶ Jasper Krabbé (1970-), son of actor/painter Jeroen Krabbé and nephew of writer Tim Krabbé, started his artistic career in the 1980s as a graffiti writer on the Amsterdam streets under the name JAZ. He was part of the United Street Artists (USA) graffiti crew. Krabbé graduated cum laude from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1992. His work is i.a. kept in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and De Fundatie in Zwolle.
