According to the colophon there should be an author photo (with a cat in the garden) by Madeleine Vos on the back, but the back of this BOUND FIRST EDITION (of 1500 copies) is blank. Cf. Hoekman B26 / p. 163.
This copy with a nice dedication on the title page 'Voor meneer de Groot / holladiejee / leve de U.B.! and SIGNATURE of the author, dated 'Leiden / 22 Sept 1984'.
¶ Dedication and dating were also crossed out with another pen (by Mr. de Groot or decorated by Maarten?). Meneer de Groot is most likely Mr. Johan Remmet de Groot (1918-1987), librarian of the University Library in Leiden between 1961 and 1983.
