Dutch translation of El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha (1605/1615); the masterpiece by Miguel Cervantes Saavedra (1547-1616). Illustrated with black and white prints by Albert Hahn Jr. who also designed the (typical 1930s art deco) binding. First hardback edition.

¶ Albert Hahn Jr. (real name Albert Pieter Dijkman, 1894-1954) was a Dutch draftsman of political prints, illustrator and book cover designer. He was the son of Albert Pieter Dijkman and Iemkje Robijns, who - in 1911 after her divorce - married the Groningen artist Albert Hahn Sr. (1877-1918). Albert Hahn junior also used as a pseudonym: A. Poussin (the French word for chick, since he was the (adopted) son of Hahn (a 'Haan' is a rooster).
