Large box with 100 reprints of very attractive prints from the Fouquet Atlas of Amsterdam; a city map and engravings with city views, churches and other monuments including the Nieuwe Kerk and the Town Hall on Dam Square, the Maagdenhuis, De Oude Schans, the Nieuwe Schouwburg (at night and moonlight), the Oostindisch Zeemagazyn, the Westindisch Huis, the Beurs, etc. Size 45.5 x 35 cm.

An unknown release. cf. Catalog H.D. Pfann, foreword by Isabella van Eeghen: "The art seller Pierre Fouquet (1729-1800) had Jan de Beyer depicting the city from 1760 to 1783. The prints were described in Dutch and French and were sold individually or in series. Around 1780 Fouquet had a table of contents printed for 100 prints."

¶ According to the previous owner, who bought the box sometime in the 1960s, the set is COMPLETE as it is. The added original wooden frame (49 x 39 cm) was purchased at the same time. It fits exactly a picture of your choice.
